Police have executed warrants at addresses across Sheffield today after shots were fired in Villiers Close in Arbourthorne last week.

At 9:20pm on Monday 2 December, police were called and found evidence of a firearms discharge but there were no reported injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Hakin said: “We absolutely will not tolerate armed criminality in South Yorkshire and we have officers from across the force working tirelessly to gather information and investigate this crime.

“We are taking this matter incredibly seriously and I wish to reassure the communities affected by this matter that we are progressing multiple lines of enquiry at pace to identify those responsible for this worrying incident.”

Officers want to hear from anyone who may know what happened.

Det Insp Andy Shields said: “We want you to feel safe where you live, but we can only do that if we have information about what is happening”
